Loom Knit Decorative Ball or Ornament for the Holiday

Hi friends!

I have a fun & quick Holiday project to start, loom knit with jingle bell balls inside for you!!!

Use your scrap funky yarn for this and start churning them out!! :-) My idea for these fun decorative balls were to use them as ornaments, in a cluster hanging from a door knob or wreath in a bowl in holiday or non holiday colors, or any other cool idea you can come up with!

Watch the VIDEO below,  Here are your supplies pictured below:
  • Knifty Knitter or Boye 12 peg bloom loom or other 12 peg large gauge loom.
  • scrap yarn with sparkle or other funky or special yarn you like
  • 2 1/2" syrofoam ball or plain ornament ball about 2 1/2 "- 3"
  • jingle bells (optional)
  • felt or scrap contrasting color fabric to your yarn choice (covers ball inside)
  • scissors & something blunt to poke & scoop the styrofoam (can just use kid safety scissors)
  • loom knitting tool & crochet hook

Use a 12 peg bloom loom. Give as gifts or tie to a wrapped packages as well.  Instead of styrofoam balls that I show with jingle bells inside, you can put these around your plain existing ornament balls as well.  As a bonus i included my gift bow tutorial below it if you'd like to add a bow at the base of these balls or in a cluster on a door.  (Learn How to Make a Bow)  Have fun!....Here is the LOOM ALONG Video!

"It's a Good Thing"...to think about

She can be unrealistic & unreal in so many ways BUT she is a savvy business woman who knows how to hire creative people.  FaveCrafts had a topic today: What do you think of Martha Stewart?

That got me thinking when reading other people's comments. Several comments! Many people were either loving or bashing her.  Many were downright accusing her.  I do not know Ms Stewart.  No, I don't buy everything she does, nor do I condone what she was imprisoned for many years ago. BUT...

.. Again, she is a savvy business woman, she is tenacious.

When you buy her things or buy into "her idea" I do think its unrealistic for people to get upset that she doesn't give people credit and take the idea as her own since she is a BRAND.  That is essentially what a brand is.  It's a conglomerate of many different people, departments and facilities coming together to have one face.  The face of her company happens to be her name.  She has her faults, as we all do, but cut the lady some slack.  She is a knockout entrepreneur who weighs in with the big boys!  Come on ladies...let's support women in business!

By the way, her price point may not be at the level you like but we constantly undersell ourselves!  We try to get everything cheap like when we export but then complain that the economy is bad with no jobs. I'm not trying to simply defend Martha Stewart.  I'm not a raging fan.  Forget what you know or have been told about her attitude or drive.  I just respect what she has built and choose to look at the things she makes and think about how fascinating and creative the people are who work for her company.  So when you see the Martha Stewart label, smile and think about the people feverishly creating so many new things behind the scenes.  They get to have a job where they get to create and celebrate creativity with excellence.  Maybe not every project is super simple, maybe some are too simple but there is a mass audience here with many skill and preference levels.  A CEO can't sit around creating all day AND run a company.  ...and THAT...is my two cents!

Knit till Your Heart's Content with the Infinity II 60"

Product Review: Worldwide launch of D. A. Looms Infinity Loom II 60" (Decor Accents)

GoodKnit Kisses unveils the NEW Infinity II S Shaped loom together with Mikey at the Crochet Crowd, allfreeknitting.com & favecrafts.com.  This item is released on May 1st, 2011. GIVEAWAY SOON! There will be a giveaway to win an Infinity II loom very soon so keep a sharp watch!

I'm thrilled to have had an early loom to test and review for viewers to get an idea of what this fabulous loom can do for you!  In my video I show you how to cast on this S shaped loom and get you well on your way to making a 5 foot wide blanket.  Knit till your heart's content! The compact loom is 16.5" x 10", perfect for sitting on your lap to make any flat panel in regular gauge from a dishcloth to a 60" afghan, it's small size is deceptive.  It's high quality construction & nylon pegs, with a finer gauge (smaller holes in your design) than the Knifty Knitter or other plastic looms from big box stores (like Walmart) to get you a tighter or closer knit item.  Your needle knitting friends are not going to know the difference!

(please read on & watch video below)
You need to know that this loom makes a flat panel for single knit items.  To step into a double knit item look to the Infinity line.  Also this loom is RG or Regular Gauge. There a also Extra Small Gauge (ESG) for an even tighter knit. Use yarn that has a bit of a stretch or you need to watch your tension to not over tighten.  This is a high quality loom and pegs to match but do be careful.

This is a great NEXT STEP for the now serious loom knitter.  Make your friends baby blankets with this or your mom an afghan or lap-ghan for Christmas.  You will not have to sew together any panels and for that alone it is worth the extra cash and wait period for this custom made quality loom.

I do cover more in my video preview as well as show the best cast on method to get you started. So please watch here and then if you like it could you please click to subscribe and comment on the video itself within YouTube.  I'd really appreciate the support. Once I reach 500 viewers I'll be giving away one of my boucle shawls! Please watch the video below!
